By I have taken notice to that the lakes with muskies in them have better size pan fish,fish a lake that has nothing but pan fish and your most likely to catch more dinks than keepers,Iv caught pickerel with fish half the size of them in there mouths and gut before,so I think that's the reason lakes with predatory fish in them have larger pan fish,big fish eat big fish thus letting all the small ones grow sure they may snack on a few 6 inchers but when they get old and big they rather eat one big meal a day and just lay around,I could be all wrong on this its just my opinion but I know the lakes I hit for muskies allways have decent sized pan fish in them, i think if they just put some bass and pickeral maybe some walleyes the lake would be just the way it was but really hope they dont put in any muskie a lake around the corner from my house has everything in it and the walleye and panfish population takes a beating from the muskies.
